Arantxa utilizes clay and photography to build surreal landscapes that activate proletariat fantasies. Through a focus on the unsatiated desires of working people, she identifies threads in our collective consciousness where we long for social change. While completing her undergraduate degree in Biological Anthropology at Boston University, Arantxa developed an interest in how social structures determine quality of life and how making art opens a path for self-actualization . She spent ten years developing social innovation techniques in persuit of an anti-racist future. Now turning to art, Arantxa’s work places parameters around amorphous tensions while leveraging glamour to hide a clandestine message. Most recently she co-founded an art community, Olin Arts, that bridges the glass and ceramic communities of Los Angeles to increase art accessability to the public.
